Time traveling

It still is funny to realize that only 45 minutes after leaving Schiphol I touched down in Vancouver. Of course it only works when the time difference is left out of the equation. Time traveling that's what it is.

A popular believe that Canada suffers from a harsh climate is contradicted by the weather forecast for the coming days. Mediterranean temperatures I would say. These conditions  help to appreciate the blessings of modern technology such as air conditioned automobiles. And what also helps is seeking refreshment in a cold can of Canadian beer. Speaking of which, I had a look around town to get my bearings and found myself on University Drive. A location that calls for a

photo to be taken of the premises where I will spend much of my time the coming months. The location was chosen with great care I discovered when I turned around. Opposite the main building one could find the Central City Brewing Co.  Leaving not many reasons for students to go walkabout...

  1. How awfull to stay there for 5 months. The tropical storm Bertha is going to change the weather over here the coming days. May be the end of the summer for some days. Enjoy your stay!

  2. The weatherforecast says i t will be dry and warm the coming 14 days in Vancouver. Some guys have all the luck …… Sunday we’ll get Bertha coming in, a bit less spooky-er than where it originated.
I am happy though that Vancouver ranked only number 15 in 2014 in the list of Most Livable Cities (where it once was no. 1) … but you will find your way. And with the Central City Brewing Co in the neighbourhood there will be no doubt at all that you will find Vancouver No .1 again. (I still remember your awkward smile in the Amersfoort-brewery)
Well, I suppose your time-travel has ended including the jetlag .. so it’s time for on update on your Howiddiz-blogspot. Nevertheless ; have fun and work hard. Bye, Hans B.
